ENSEMBLE ARTS PHILLY, IN ASSOCIATION WITH OUTBACK PRESENTS, WELCOMES INSIGHTFUL AND HILARIOUS STORYTELLER,
ALI SIDDIQ, IN A ONE-NIGHT-ONLY
PRESENTATION OF HIS NEWEST SHOW,
I GOT A STORY TO TELL,
 NOVEMBER 15, 2024

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(October 3, 2024) – Ensemble Arts Philly, in association with Outback Presents, is thrilled to present the authentic and hilarious storytelling of Ali Siddiq in his new comedy stand-up tour I Got A Story To Tell at the Miller Theater on November 15, 2024, at 7:00 p.m.

A stand-up comedian and public speaker out of Houston, Texas, Siddiq’s unique style began behind walls during incarceration, an incubator for his life experiences and stories. In 2022, Siddiq released two new specials, The Domino Effect on YouTube and Unprotected Sets on EPIX. To date, The Domino Effect has over 10 million views, ranking it in the top 5 most watched comedy specials of the year. On June 4, 2023, Siddiq released The Domino Effect 2: Loss on YouTube; the sequel to his viral stand-up special has over 3 million views to date.

“Ali Siddiq masterfully blends humor into the raw truths of life, connecting to and captivating his audience,” said Frances Egler, Vice President of Theatrical Programming and Presentations. “Part of our robust fall comedy lineup, Siddiq joins a long list of comedians who do not shy away from sharing their personal lives onstage, determined to find the humor in both the joyful and painful experiences.”

The public received their first taste of Siddiq when he appeared on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam and Live from Gotham, and in 2013 he was named Comedy Central’s “#1 Comics to Watch.” In 2014, Siddiq impressed comedy enthusiasts and displayed his ability to captivate an audience with his “Mexicans Got on Boots” tale, a descriptive storytelling (with over 13 million views) of a prison riot on This is Not Happening (the first of three appearances). His stories continued with a half hour special, which premiered on Comedy Central in the fall of 2016. Immediately following the premiere of that special, Comedy Central offered Siddiq an hour-long special where he performed for inmates in a Texas jail, sending Siddiq back to where it all started. The hour special, Ali Siddiq: It’s Bigger Than These Bars, premiered in February 2018 on Comedy Central. In 2019, Siddiq was a top 5 finalist on NBC’s Bring the Funny. He also appeared as a regular cast member on the reboot of PUNK’D for Quibi.

Additionally, Siddiq has appeared on several popular podcasts like The Joe Rogan Experience, 85 South, Uncle Joey’s Joint with Joey Diaz, Ari Shaffir’s Skeptic Tank, Bertcast, Pour Mind, and others.
