ENSEMBLE ARTS PHILLY PRESENTS
AN EVENING WITH INA GARTEN
WITH FIVE-TIME EMMY® AWARD WINNER AND
CULINARY EXPERT, INA GARTEN, CELEBRATING
THE RELEASE OF HER MEMOIR,
BE READY WHEN THE LUCK HAPPENS,
 OCTOBER 9, 2024

Conversation moderated by Emmy® and Golden Globe
 Award winner, Laura Linney

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (August 29, 2024) – Ensemble Arts Philly happily presents the inspiring and high-spirited beloved television cook and author, Ina Garten, in An Evening with Ina Garten at the Academy of Music on October 9, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. In this intimate conversation, moderated by actress Laura Linney, Garten will discuss and elaborate on the themes in her new memoir, Be Ready When the Luck Happens – which is set to hit shelves this fall – and share personal stories with readers who are hungry for a seat at her table.

Ina Garten (aka the Barefoot Contessa) is the author of thirteen bestselling cookbooks, a beloved Food Network personality, Instagram sensation, and cultural icon with millions of followers in the US and abroad. Garten is the host of Be My Guest and Barefoot Contessa on Food Network and Max, for which she has won five Emmy® Awards and three James Beard Awards.

“Watching Ina Garten is like watching a maestro, paying attention to every artistic ingredient that makes up a remarkable (and delicious) dish,” said Frances Egler, Vice President of Theatrical Programming and Presentations. “Her ability to blend storytelling with culinary art creates experiences that resonate deeply with food lovers and home cooks alike.”

This fall, Garten will publish her long-awaited memoir Be Ready When the Luck Happens (CROWN, OCT 2024). From a difficult childhood to meeting the love of her life Jeffrey, and marrying him when still in college, from a boring bureaucratic job in Washington D.C to answering an ad for a specialty food store in the Hamptons, from the owner of one Barefoot Contessa shop to author of bestselling cookbooks and celebrated television host, Garten has blazed her own trail and, in the meantime, taught millions of people how to cook and entertain.

Garten’s gift is to make everything look easy, yet all her accomplishments have been the results of hard work, audacious choices, and exquisite attention to detail. In her unmistakable voice (no one tells a story like Garten), she brings her past and her process to life in a high-spirited and no-holds-barred memoir that chronicles decades of personal challenges, adventures (and misadventures), and unexpected career twists, all delivered with her signature combination of playfulness and purpose.
