ENSEMBLE ARTS PHILLY AND METROPOLITAN ENTERTAINMENT PRESENT FRANCO ESCAMILLA, WORLD-FAMOUS “MASTER OF SARCASM” WITH HIS NEW SHOW, 1995APRIL 7, 2024

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (March 4, 2024) – Ensemble Arts Philly, the new presenting brand of the Kimmel Cultural Campus and The Philadelphia Orchestra, in association with Metropolitan Entertainment, welcomes world-famous Spanish-language comedian, musician, and performance artist, Franco Escamilla, and his new show, 1995, to the Miller Theater on April 7, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. Known for his unapologetic brand of humor, sharp wit, and charismatic presence, Escamilla is widely recognized for resonating with audiences across the globe. Performing entirely in Spanish, Escamilla talks through the most important, funny, and impactful events that happened during 1995, in a way that only Escamilla can – with anecdotes, facts, and an unexpected twist.

Well known as “El Amo del Sarcasmo (“The Master of Sarcasm”) because of his YouTube videos of sarcastic jokes for adults, his style of standup comedy features rough, dark humor.

"We're excited to add Escamilla's unique brand of humor to our spring comedy lineup," said Frances Egler, Vice President of Theatrical Programming and Presentations. “1995 offers a hilarious and nostalgic evening of comedy pulled from the history books as much as Escamilla’s mind.”

Born in Cuautla, Morelos, Escamilla has gained widespread popularity not only in Mexico, but also internationally, captivating audiences with his witty observations on everyday life, relationships, and the quirks of human behavior. His style of comedy is characterized by his sharp wit, impeccable timing, and ability to connect with his audience on a personal level. In addition to his successful career as a comedian, Escamilla has also released music albums, showcasing his talent as a singer and songwriter.
