September 13, 2023

KIMMEL CULTURAL CAMPUS PRESENTS ICONIC ACTOR AND LIVING LEGEND, SIR PATRICK STEWART, IN CONVERSATION IN CELEBRATION OF HIS LONG-AWAITED MEMOIR MAKING IT SO, OCTOBER 3, 2023

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (September 13, 2023) –– The Kimmel Cultural Campus presents award winning actor, Sir Patrick Stewart, for the release and celebration of his new memoir Making It So at the Perelman Theater on October 3, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. The not-to-be-missed show includes an exclusive storytelling experience from Stewart himself. Each attendee will receive a copy of Stewart’s memoir.

From his acclaimed stage triumphs to his legendary onscreen work in the Star Trek and X-Men franchises, Sir Patrick Stewart has captivated audiences around the world and across multiple generations with his indelible command of stage and screen. Now, he presents his long-awaited memoir Making It So, a revealing portrait of an artist whose astonishing life—from his humble beginnings in Yorkshire, England, to the heights of Hollywood and worldwide acclaim—proves a story as exuberant, definitive, and enduring as the author himself.

“Through heartfelt anecdotes and captivating storytelling, Stewart shares the wisdom, passion, and moments that shaped his illustrious career for one-night-only,” said Frances Egler, Vice President of Theatrical Programming & Presentations on the Kimmel Cultural Campus. “It's a rare opportunity to witness the brilliance of a true legend of stage and screen, one we hope will leave audiences inspired and eager to make their own mark on the world.”

Throughout his career, Stewart’s legendary performances have garnered him three Olivier Awards, Emmy® and Tony® Award nominations, and a Grammy® Award, among countless other honors. Getting his start as a classically trained theater artist at England’s Royal Shakespeare company, Stewart kept this side of him alive throughout his entire career. From playing King Claudius in Hamlet to adapting Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol into a one-man play, Stewart never let his training go to waste. Aside from his career on the stage, he has made his name in voice acting, comedy, and as one of the longest running action Marvel superheroes.

Stewart is also known for his comedic appearances on the sitcom Frasier and Extras, for which he received a Primetime Emmy® Award Nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. He currently voices CIA Deputy Director Avery Bullock on American Dad!.

Other featured upcoming performances on the Kimmel Cultural Campus include Eddie Izzard – The Remix: The First 35 Years (September 14 – 15, 2023, Miller Theater); Tony Hinchcliffe: Fully Groan Tour (September 29, 2023, Miller Theater); Aunty Donna: The Magical Dead Cat Tour (October 7, 2023, Perelman Theater); Nurse Blake: Shock Advised Tour (October 14, 2023, Miller Theater); Loreena McKennitt: The Visit Revisited 30th Anniversary Tour (October 20, 2023, Miller Theater); The Moth Mainstage (October 21, 2023, Miller Theater); A Tribute to Jerry Blavat (October 21, 2023, Academy of Music); An Evening with the Late John Cleese (October 25, 2023, Academy of Music); Steve Martin & Martin Short: You Won’t Believe What They Look Like Today! (October 27, 2023, Academy of Music); Golden Girls – The Laughs Continue (October 27 – 28, 2023, Miller Theater); Jimmy Carr: Terribly Funny (November 11, 2023, Miller Theater); Ira Glass and Etgar Keret (November 15, 2023, Miller Theater) and David Spade: Catch Me Inside (December 2, 2023, Miller Theater).
