FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (August 29, 2024) – Ensemble Arts Philly, in association with Live Nation, is thrilled to welcome MrBallen, the top true crime podcast host and one of the internet’s biggest storytellers, on his first-ever live tour, The Strange, Dark & Mysterious Tour, at the Miller Theater on October 12, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. The renowned storyteller has captured millions of hearts worldwide through his knack for weaving thrilling tales that tread the paths of the strange, dark, and mysterious. This tour marks his first venture into live performing, off the digital platform, taking his unusual tales from the screen to the stage.

“MrBallen brings an interesting perspective and personal background to the digital storytelling community, appealing to lovers of true crime, mystery, and the art of a well-told story,” said Frances Egler, Vice President of Theatrical Programming and Presentations. “This one-night-only event enables Philadelphia fans to engage outside the screen with this captivating, flesh-and-blood narrator.”

John Allen, known globally as “MrBallen,” has been captivating audiences for years with his unique brand of storytelling, covering strange and mysterious phenomena ranging from true crime to paranormal to unexplained disappearances. Deeply researched and seriously compelling, both MrBallen’s YouTube channel and the hit MrBallen Podcast: Strange, Dark & Mysterious Stories rapidly gained a devoted fanbase for the raconteur himself and for the rarely-before-covered unsettling occurrences and true crimes that have taken place throughout the world.

Earlier this year, Ballen Studios announced the upcoming publication of MrBallen’s first book, MrBallen Presents: Strange, Dark & Mysterious. The graphic novel by MrBallen will contain hand-drawn adaptations of mysterious stories based on true events from his incredibly popular YouTube channel and additional new, exclusive stories. The graphic novel will be available for purchase at all tour stops and anywhere books are sold on October 1, 2024.
