ENSEMBLE ARTS PHILLY, IN ASSOCIATION WITH
WESTBETH ENTERTAINMENT, PRESENTS
CAN’T-MISS IRISH COMEDIAN, TOMMY TIERNAN,
IN HIS BRAND-NEW COMEDY SHOW: TOMMEDIAN,
 OCTOBER 26, 2024

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (August 29, 2024) – Ensemble Arts Philly, in association with WestBeth Entertainment, is thrilled to welcome internationally renowned Irish comedian and actor, Tommy Tiernan, with his brand-new, one-man show, Tommedian, to the Perelman Theater on October 26, 2024, at 8:00 p.m.

Hailed by critics and fans as his most refreshing and audacious performance yet, Tommedian is a fun-fueled trip through the comic imagination of one of the best comedians in the world. This is a wild, uninhibited, and fiercely physical display of stand-up. A madcap parade of characters, memories, and ridiculous flights of fancy. Theatrical, poetical, and slightly unhinged.

“As an ambassador of the indisputable Irish wit, Tommy Tiernan delves deep into the human experience, unearthing laughs at every turn,” said Frances Egler, Vice President of Theatrical Programming and Presentations. "With an already stellar roster of comedians this fall, including the likes of Hannah Gadsby, Leslie Jones, and Mike Birbiglia, the addition of Tiernan's 'Tommedian' propels our comedy season to the next level."

Tiernan has been performing stand-up comedy for close to thirty years, having played across the globe from Moscow and Moosejaw and every corner of Ireland’s 32 counties, from Tory Island to the Wexford Opera House with legendary record-breaking ticket sales. Tiernan recently appeared as ‘Da Gerry’ in the tv show Derry Girls and in the TV adaptation of the bestselling book Conversations with Friends. He hosts his own critically acclaimed improvised chat show, The Tommy Tiernan Show, on Ireland’s RTE 1.

Other featured upcoming performances include An Evening with Fran Lebowitz (September 7, 2024, Miller Theater); The Life and Music of George Michael (September 19, 2024, Miller Theater); Leslie Jones: LIVE (September 21, 2024; Miller Theater); Hannah Gadsby: WOOF!
