The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and SEI have joined together to unveil SEI Innovation Studio which features a new architectural Spruce Street entrance and an ongoing, revolving display of artwork from the West Collection, the world’s largest private collection of emerging artists. Works will be on display for the public to enjoy both in the studio’s lobby and Commonwealth Plaza. Our partnership with SEI provides an important opportunity to spur the imagination of our shared community through performance, visual art, and theater.

Additionally, the black box theater will house jazz and theater residencies within the 200-seat venue, providing a platform for both emerging and established musical artists and playwrights to produce new works which will be premiered in spaces across Ensemble Arts Philly venues.

“SEI is proud to support the Kimmel Center through the creation of the SEI Innovation Studio. The studio is a natural extension of the company’s long-standing commitment to creativity, art, and innovation. We believe that art encourages the creation of new ideas and inspires exceptional performance. We hope our partnership with the Kimmel will help spur the imagination of the Philadelphia community.” — Alfred P. West, Jr., SEI’s Chairman and CEO.
