KIMMEL CULTURAL CAMPUS PRESENTS AWARD-WINNING COMEDIAN & RISING STAR TAYLOR TOMLINSON IN THE HAVE IT ALL TOURSEPTEMBER 7 & 8, 2023

  • The New York Times

“A show’s worth of perfectly crafted punchlines.”

  • Esquire

“Whip-smart and spectacularly cynical.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (July 31, 2023) –– The Kimmel Cultural Campus presents, in association with Outback Presents, TIME100 NEXT comedian and Forbes’ 30 Under 30 star Taylor Tomlinson on her Have It All Tour at Verizon Hall for two performances, September 7 & a sold out engagement on September 8, 2023, both at 7:00 p.m. Note, limited tickets remain for the September 7 show.

“We welcome growing superstar Taylor Tomlinson back to our Campus, excited to bring her new material to Philadelphia audiences,” said Frances Egler, Vice President of Theatrical Programming & Presentations on the Kimmel Cultural Campus. “Tomlinson’s engagement kicks off a full fall line-up of laughter, as she takes her place amongst internationally known masters of comedy, including Eddie Izzard, Jimmy Carr, Tony Hinchcliffe, David Spade, and Steve Martin & Martin Short.”

Recognized by The New Yorker for her “quicksilver candor,” the California native has been mining everything, from her childhood to her dating escapades, for an entirely new live show on the heels of her second hour-long special, Look At You, streaming now on Netflix. Tomlinson’s comedic perspective possesses a degree of wisdom that’s typically earned with age. She combines that vision with on-the-nose immediacy, unflinching candor, and biting wit that can only come with still living in the moments before being lampooned.

Renowned comedian and producer Chelsea Handler opines that the TIME100 Next fellow-comedian Tomlinson “is representative of this new generation of comedians—a generation that is able to talk about things in a healthy, clear manner.” That self-deprecating humor is on full display in, Look At You, recognized as the top comedy special of 2022 by Vulture, the Los Angeles Times and The New York Times

New York Magazine adds, “Watching Tomlinson gives you the same comfort as a Swift concert or a Broadway show that’s been on for years. This is a professional. This performance will be ultra-produced. You do not need to be anxious,” and the Los Angeles Times observes, “Even when she’s navigating painful waters, she can’t help but find the humor… her wit and pinpoint delivery reveal both an incisive writer and also a talented actor.”

Filmed last December at the historic Wilbur Theater in Boston, Look At You is an evolution of Tomlinson’s Quarter-Life Crisis that debuted on Netflix in March of 2020. Her first hour-long special went on to be named “Best of 2020” by The New York Times, Decider, and Paste, and earned unanimous critical praise, with The Washington Post calling her “your favorite quarantine-watch” and Newsweek dubbing her “undeniably hilarious.” With appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, CBS This Morning, The Kelly Clarkson Show, and more, Tomlinson recently announced additional dates for her headlining Have It All Tour for 2023, including the rising star’s first stops in Australia and New Zealand.

Other featured upcoming performances on the Kimmel Cultural Campus include Eddie Izzard - The Remix: The First 35 Years (September 14 – 15, 2023, Miller Theater), Tony Hinchcliffe: Fully Groan Tour (September 29, 2023, Miller Theater), Nurse Blake: Shocked Advised Tour (October 14, 2023, Miller Theater), Loreena McKennit: The Visit Revisited 30th Anniversary Tour (October 20, 2023, Miller Theater), The Moth Mainstage (October 21, 2023, Miller Theater), Steve Martin & Martin Short: You Won’t Believe What They Look Like Today! (October 27, 2023, Academy of Music), Jimmy Carr: Terribly Funny (November 11, 2023, Miller Theater), and David Spade: Catch Me Inside (December 2, 2023, Miller Theater).
